Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony, a native of St. Louis, has been the pastor of Fellowship Chapel in Detroit since 1986, leading the church through its largest growth. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Wayne State University and an M.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Marygrove College.
A Certified Social Worker, Rev. Anthony developed the Isuthu and Intonjane Institutes, rites of passage programs for African American youth. He has served 15 terms as President of the Detroit Branch NAACP and founded the Freedom Institute and the Fannie Lou Hamer Political Action Committee. A strong advocate for social justice, he created the “Take Your Souls to the Polls” voter initiative and led the $23 million Connected Futures Program, providing laptops and Wi-Fi to 51,000 Detroit students.
