Marvin Beatty, a retired Deputy Fire Commissioner for the City of Detroit Fire Department, made history as the first African-American to hold that position. With over 22 years of service, he has since become a prominent community leader. Following his role as Executive Director of the Wadsworth Community Center, Mr. Beatty was appointed to the Detroit Board of Zoning Appeals, a position he still holds.
As Chief Community Officer at Greektown Casino Hotel, he remains deeply involved in community efforts, serving on various boards including the NAACP, Music Hall, and the Detroit Economic Growth Corp.
