Dr. Otero completed his bachelor’s degree in General Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus and his doctorate in Medicine at The University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Then he continued his medical specialty education with an Internal Medicine Internship and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at the San Juan Veterans Affairs Hospital, where he graduated with Honors and received the Award of Academic Excellence.
Dr. Otero continued his preparation with a subspecialty training in a North America Spine Society accredited Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine (NASS-ISSM) 2-year fellowship at Alabama Ortho Spine and Sports Medical Associates, where he graduated with over 8,000 procedures including Interventional Procedures, Orthobiologics, and Minimally Invasive Pain Surgery. Then he moved to Michigan, where he practiced for 2 years as an Interventional Pain and Minimally Invasive Spine Specialist before opening his own Interventional Orthopedics practice in Battle Creek Michigan for a year. Currently, Dr. Otero is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine, The Orthobiologic Institute, the Interventional Orthobiologic Foundation, the American Association of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the American Society of Regenerative Medicine, where he keeps up to date with the latest advancements in Interventional Orthopedics.
